Privacy Policy
Numen (“Numen,” “we,” “us”) is a daily numerology practice for reflection. This policy explains what information the app handles and the choices you have. It is written to be read — in plain language, because that is the whole point of the app.
01Information stored on your device
The heart of Numen runs entirely on your device. The following is stored locally, in the app’s own storage, and is not transmitted to us by default:
- Your full name and birth date, which Numen reduces to your core numbers.
- The people you add to your orbit — their names, birth dates and your relationship to them.
- Your Trail — journal entries, mood marks, tags and reflections.
- Your settings and preferences — theme, notification timing, motion preferences.
If you delete the app, this on-device information is removed with it. You can also clear it at any time using Erase & reset under Privacy & data in the app.
02Optional account & sign-in
The core experience needs no account. If you choose to sign in — for example to keep your practice across devices — Numen offers Sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time email link. When you use one of these:
- Authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider, Supabase, acting as a data processor on our behalf.
- We receive only what is needed to authenticate you and maintain a session — typically an email address or a provider-issued identifier, and a session token. Sign in with Apple may relay a private, app-specific address rather than your real email.
- We do not receive your Apple, Google or email account password.
If you never sign in, no account is created and none of this applies.
03Subscriptions & payments
Numen Plus is sold as an in-app subscription through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment — we never see or store your card or payment details. To unlock and restore your subscription, we use RevenueCat as our subscription manager; it receives a pseudonymous app-user identifier and your purchase receipt so it can tell the app whether your subscription is active. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
04Notifications
If you allow notifications, Numen schedules a small number of reminders — at most two a day — to nudge you toward the day’s reading. These are scheduled locally on your device. You can turn them off any time in the app or in your system settings.
05What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
- We do not show advertising or use advertising or cross-app tracking identifiers.
- We do not build profiles of you for marketing, or share your numbers or journal with third parties.
- We do not require a social feed, follower graph, or public profile.
06Children
Numen is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
07Retention & deletion
On-device data persists until you erase it in the app or delete the app. If you created an account, you may request deletion of that account and any associated authentication records by emailing us; we will action it within a reasonable period, subject to records we must keep for legal or tax reasons (for example, subscription history held by Apple).
08Security
Because your sensitive content stays on your device, it is protected by your device’s own security. For the limited account and subscription data described above, we and our processors use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under U.S. state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Much of your data never reaches us, so the fastest way to exercise most of these rights is directly in the app. For anything held by us, email hello@getnumen.io and we will respond.
10International users
Numen is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the U.S., any limited account or subscription data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
